Being Boring Is Killing Your Brand

How To Add "Character" To Your Content

X (Twitter) is triggering me.

  • Same old platitudes

  • Soul-less giveaways

  • Pointless questions

And this is not an exaggeration.

Novel concepts, pure stories, and value-packed threads have been buried deep for a long time.

Except for the top 1% of creators.

While the rest of the crowd is scraping and repurposing the same ideas, the elite are playing a different game.

Education with entertainment is the new game that is being played.

And I’ll show you exactly how to write entertaining content and NOT be boring:

1. Stand By Your Ideals

Here’s a shocking fact for you:

You can actually share your opinions and worldviews.

There is no point in being diplomatic in the social media game. People follow leaders who stand for who they are. This is how followers become fans.

Sure, you can get a little disagreements as well.

But the point still stands.

Eliminate uncertain takes while posting content. Only share things that you have immense knowledge about. Your experience adds more firepower to your arguments.

Note: Do not be polarizing or controversial just for the sake of it. It’ll backfire heavily.

Stop being a wuss.

Start being polarizing.

Who Is Your Enemy?

Build an enemy persona to your beliefs and values.

Good creators stand for a goal they’re trying to achieve and stand against an enemy they’re running away from.

  • For entrepreneurs, it is 9-5 jobs.

  • For AI enthusiasts, it is traditional jobs

  • For productivity experts, it is distractions

Answer these 2 questions to identify your enemy:

  1. What triggers you the most?

  2. What do you firmly believe in that most people don’t?

You can use these answers as firepower for your content.

Paint a picture for your audience. Show them the downsides of the “enemy” of your brand.

People love ideas that go against each other. They take a stand based on their beliefs. People will rally to you once they know which idea you stand against.

Note: Never go against a real person. Hate the idea of what they stand for. Going against a particular individual online will kill your brand.

Call Out On People’s BS

The best content evokes emotions within people.

You always see people:

  • Not taking action on their goals

  • Being lazy

  • Addicted to porn

  • Doom-scrolling social media

  • Eating ultra-processed foods

  • Not hitting the gym

  • Being entitled

  • Spreading hate

  • Judging people quickly

  • Always complain and whine

  • Not having a purpose

  • Relying on others to save them

  • Not taking responsibility

  • Blames the government

  • Playing video games for 6 hours

  • Justifying their bad habits

The list goes on.

Call people out for their behaviors.

Call out the traits you see within people you find disturbing.

This is another way to be polarizing. People need to feel what they’re doing is terrible for them to take action. They don’t look up to leaders who comfort them.

They look up to leaders who call out on their bullshit, make them aware of their what they are doing wrong, and provide solutions.

Be a leader who can’t tolerate weakness.

That’s it from me today.

Enjoy your week ahead.
